The mere act of putting on the uniform is the promise to stand in the face of evil and stare it down - defiantly refusing to let the innocent fall. Officer Freeto, the people you saved and sacrificed for that night have called you their Guardian Angel. How true. By all accounts, you always had a smile on your face, were always willing to lend a helping hand, always thinking of others before yourself and were a dedicated husband, father and son. Know that we, as citizens of Fort Worth, as Christians, as Americans, as members of the human race appreciate your incredible gift of spirit. May you rest in peace. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family, always.

Occasionally, I find it difficult to sleep. I like to past the time reading reflections because they keep me grounded in what it is I do. They are painful to read and very humbling because you can almost feel the loss, personally, as you consider your own mortality and your own family, friends, and colleagues.

Officer Freeto, I know your family, friends, and colleagues are devastated and the only comfort that can be found is time, love, and tenderness during this period in their lives. I will be praying for them because though it's a small thing I can do for them, it's effects have eternal rewards. Rest In Peace.
