When I received the call about you being shot, and where they had taken you. Lot's of memories came rushing back, I prayed for you, your family and the Montgomery Police Department. And for them to catch the one responsible for putting you and your family through this, and they have, which gives some relief.
To the family, my prayers are with you, all of you have a tough road ahead. There is not much anyone can say that will make things any easier. But the one thing that helped me through and continues to help me go on is the fact that Clint loved being a police officer and would not have traded places with anyone.
Officer Houts your family will miss you everyday, but we will never forget you, look Clint up for me tell him his mother still misses him everyday day of the year.
You are a HERO

I never had the honor of meeting Keith, but he is still my brother because he pinned on the badge and served his community and his nation. Even though we never met, I am deeply affected by his death. I can not imagine the callousness of his assassin, but I take comfort in the news of this coward's arrest and extradiction back to Alabama. I pray that he is swiftly convicted, receives the death sentence he so justly deserved, and is shipped to Holman prison to await his turn in the death chamber. Too bad the filthy scumbag didn't resist arrest so he could have been justifiably killed and take an express ride to hell! But if this animal had not been paroled early, this terrible tragedy never would have occurred. It's time for the public to demand that violent offenders serve their sentence in it's entirety.

To Keith's wife and family; As you have seen from this site Keith's sacrafice has effected many of us from the law enforcement community and will never be forgotten. You have become part of our "extended family" and we will always be there for you.
Keith; Thank you my brother for giving the ultimate, and doing everything right to bring Woodward to justice. Your fight to the end was remarkable and one that I will never forget!
To my brothers and sister's at MPD; We feel your loss and the anger and cofusion that you are now experiencing. But please always remember two things... there is no thing as a "routine" stop or call.. and you now have Officer Houts watching over your shoulder as a back-up and reminder.

Keith-
Many years ago I watched you walk into the TEKE house at Troy State University. You won us over with your charm, wit, and compassion to help others. Over the years I have watched you shape into a man whose character is beyond reproach. Anytime we needed you, you were there. With reflections back to the many conversations that we have had over the years, I know that you were happy because you did exactly what you said you were going to do-serve our country as a soldier and serve our community as a police officer. I know that you will be watching over us from Heaven and that God as another Angel. As your fraternity brother and as a fellow officer-I miss you, I love you, and I'll see you on the other side..Rest in peace Bro
