Octavio, I cannot believe this. It seems like just yesterday we were in two-a-days at Hialeah High. I'd heard of the great work you had been doing at your department over the years. You were always 150% or nothing, and your untimely death showed it. You made the ultimate sacrifice so that the community you served could live safely. I will pray for your family, I can assure you that God will continue to provide for them. May you rest in peace. Blessed are the peacekeepers for they shall be called the children of God.
You will be missed,

I met Ox while working as a Narcotics Agent in a neighboring parish. Ox was hard working, dedicated, and a true professional in a job he loved. He was very well respected and known by many in the metro area law enforcement community. I was very sad and to hear that Ox passed away. I regret not being there to assist, but I know many who were and I have the utmost respect for all of you.

To the family, friends and coworkers of Octavius Gonzales my heart and prayers are with you all. May God be with you in this terrible time of loss. Rest in peace Ox. I will never forget.

To the family I am very sorry for your loss. Since My husband has gone to heaven I am always on this site to see about other fallen heros and to visit his site. I found this message while looking at other reflections. I hope you have some kind of peace (if that is ever possible) to know that he is happy and in a better place. May God Bless you!!

A Letter From Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say;
But first of all to let you know, that I arrived OK.

I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with God above;
Here there's no more tears of sadness, only eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy because I'm out of sight;
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon, and night.

That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through; God picked me up and hugged me, and He said, "I welcome you". He reunited me with others there who I had loved on Earth, many who had loved me since the time of my birth.

"It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone. As for your beloved family, they'll be here later on. I need you here so badly, you are a part of my plan. There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man".

God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do; And foremost on the list was to watch and care for all of you.

When you lie in bed at night with the day's chores put to flight; God and I are closest to you in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years; Because you are only human, they are going to bring you tears.

Do not be afraid to cry, it helps relieve the pain. Remember as some poet said, "There would be no flowers without the rain".

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned, but if I were to tell you, you would not understand.

But, one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er; I am closer to you NOW, than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; but TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT by taking one day at a time.

If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and in pain; Then you can say to God at night... "My day was not in vain".

And now I am content... that my life was worthwhile; knowing as I passed along the way, I made you and others smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low; Just lend a hand to pick them up as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to leave... from Earth to be free; Remember you're not leaving... You're coming here to me.
