Ox,

We are truly saddened that God chose to take you away so soon. You made the ultimate sacrifice. You were a true role model, liked and respected by all. To your family, may they find the strength to carry on and always remember how much you loved them. Your loyalty to everyone in your life was a very special trait that you possessed. Rest in peace and God bless you and your family.

Ox, had I known Thursday afternoon when we departed from lunch that we said our final good-byes, there's so much more I would have said. It was truly an honor being your friend. You meant so much to so many different people. The love you had for your wife and children was apparent in everything you did. Thank you for always treating me like "one of the guys". You always included me in whatever was going on and made me feel like I could do just as good a job as anyone else. You taught me so many things, especially when dealing with people. You always had an explaination for why people did the things they did, even when it hurt someone else. Even though you have left this earth, I can still feel your presence around us everyday. I know you will watch over us each day and guide us through this difficult time. I hope we make you proud. We love you, Ox! Until we meet again......

Ox,
May you rest in peace with those who went before you - much too early in life. Please you watch over all of in blue from above. God had a reason for taking you when he did and only when we see you again will we know the reason he took you so early. You will surely be missed. You are gone but not forgotten.
Rest in peace, Brother

Captain,
Even though your team has a black eye, we will adapt and overcome, in time. You were the pointman for us as a team, and over the last few days we've been walking in circles without you here.I guess what i'm saying is you were the father, leader, hero, and insperation to us all.We now have a huge void to fill and it will take several of us to continue to do all the things you did alone. We miss you but we are begining to realize that even though your not here phisically, your still here mentally.Thank you for everything you've done, you've set an example for us to follow. What you did was the most unselfish thing possible and we always knew that you were about nothing less.

Rest In Peace Captain, we'll take point from here and you make us proud to say we are S.O.R.T.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting you personally, but tales of the honorable officer and friend that you were have traveled through my ears more than a few times in the past few years. Though we did not have a personal relationship, you are my brother in arms and will be dearly missed. You and your family will be kept in my prayers for years to come.

Captain Octavio "OX" Gonzales was one of the most dedicated police officers I have ever known. OX loved to talk "shop" and was always willing to explain some aspect of narcotics investigation that I needed help with.

An honorable police officer and man, shot by a coward in the back. Your dedication and loyalty will never be forgotten.
