One year, 3 days, 17 hours and 11 minutes since your living presents was felt. It feels like an eternity to me because I've had to deal with your lost everyday. I have faith that each day going foward will get better( I know you would want it).
Please continue to help lead, guide and watch over all your family, friends and co-workers (we all can use an Angel). We are all missing your jokes but, loving that we now have Tonyisms(LOL). You will never be forgotten and your spirit will be with us always.

It's been a year since you have been gone and it all still seems so unreal. I can feel your presence around me and it's hard not being able to talk to you or see you. Yesterday as I visited the the site of the accident I was leaving some ballons and a young man approached me and asked who died when I said my cousin he wanted to know the story instantly I had flashbacks couldnt say but I had Nick with me and he jumped right and told the story the young man said why are you doing this for a police officer do you like the police Nick replied yeah we do(lol) not only was he a police but he was my best cousin he went on & on & well you know how he gets but he made sure to let him know who and what you were. I really miss you and I know that everything gets better with time but to me it's not. There's not a day that goes by that I dont mention your name or just sit back and think about you. When we went to D.C. for the vigil that was an awesome experience we laughed and joked when our candles started burning the cups knowing it was only you.
Tony continue to look over us til we meet again.........

Love Forever,

On this night that brings a year of your departure to the heavens I can't help but cry...I think of you and more of those you love. What a great sacrifice we must all make. The wives and families of you great men. So today on this great day a day of saying thank you to the Lord for finding a place for you on his throne I cry a tear and so do others mourning your loss. To your wife, children, family I say be strong for he is up above smiling over you.
To your fellow officers I say keep your head high, keep safe, Anthony Byrd is by your side and when you feel him inside do as I and know that it's ok for the boys in blue to cry.

We love you Tony and miss you everyday.

it has been a year since you have left us and we all still feel the pain and sorrow of not having you here with us; however, we know that you would not want us to keep weeping or mourning over you but the days will get brighter and better as time goes on. it was an awesome experience to attend the cermony and see your name engraved at the national law enforcement monument on 5/13. love you and miss you dearly.

We never had the chance to meet, everyday I wish we had. I care for a man that suffers not having you in his life. He feels pain every waking moment. I don't know that I will ever have his heart, it lies with you. I ask of you, Tony, your family and God. Please show him the way, please show him that he is loved and forgiven. May you patrol the heavens and protect those of us still here. Till we meet in heaven in our own blue sky.

My soul truly aches for you. It still feels overwhelming some days because of my wide range of heartrending emotions. You were the complete package with no additives or preservatives just natural goodness. I am trying so hard to keep living with just the memories (wishing I had you in the flesh). You are a hard act to follow!

The girls keep me on my toes. Thank you for choosing me to help raise them. They are growing up to be smart and beautiful young ladies with all the values you worked so hard to instill. They have consistently made the honor roll all year.
We miss you much.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet you Officer Byrd, I am proud to have been selected to ride for you in the 2007 Police Unity Tour. Anthony, I will proudly wear your name on my wristband where I can see it every mile I pedal of the 240 mile ride. I trust you will be watching over all of us. To your family, I wish God's blessings and the hope that we at the Police Unity Tour can bring just a little comfort and honor to them during their difficult time.

YOU WEAR THAT WRISTBAND PROUDLY SIR; SGT BYRD WAS A POLICE OFFICERS' POLICE OFFICER. HE WAS A GREAT PArtner and friend and there's no day that goe's by that I dont think about you. Lil'byrd I have my moments when I'm at work when I reflect on our 10 year history in the BCPD. I love you like a brother; and admired you as a man. And I will cherish what we had for the rest of my life. And until we meet again brother there will be a big void in my life but I can relax knowing you are patrolling with God Almighty.

Until we meet again!!!!!!

My sincere condolences go out to the family of Officer Byrd. I can only imaging what a loss it must have been for his family, both at home and at work. I hope that his wife can find comfort knowing that there are many people around the Country that hold her in their hearts when they hear about Officers killed in the line of duty. Having lost close friends in our department, I know that it can be especially difficult, but we must all relly on each other to do our duty.

Hey Byrd, I was thinking about you. I just wanted to say thank you for being that angel that helped to make me smile. I tend to let alot of things get to me, especially the the job. You always, always were around during those times when I was down, and showed me how to smile and laugh. You always told me not to let this place get to me and that things could always be worse. I want to say that I see now that you were my Angel. I always wondered how you could always remain calm, have a silly since of humor, and always find something to say to help ease the load. I miss you so much.
You will always be my Brother. Watch over your family, they miss and Love you so much.

I attended the medal cermony all I can say is WOW......a Medal Of Honor. I cant believe that your really not here when we walked on stage to accept the medal it was like whoa what are we doing just looking out at your fellow officers brought tears to my eyes. I guess I really didnt understand how tough you guys really have to be but after listening to some of the stories I now see.Toni & KiKi are getting so big they really have you in them esp.your sense of humor.I wish this was just a bad dream that I can wake up and it would be over but I know it's not. It's amazing how much you are still having an impact on people's lives even though your not physically here.So Tony Byrd until we meet again..........................

Well Tony, we lost another friend,Troy, and heaven has gained another great man. It's only a few days before your birthday and I was thinking about you, Shantelle, and the kids. I spoke with your wife today and we shared a lauh remembering you. I know they say this is going to get easier but so far it has not. I still struggle with the fact that you are gone. I never had the chance to tell you that you were like the brother I never had. Keep us safe and watch over us Tony.
