Rest in peace, brother. I know it's not a consolation to your family, but the swine who killed you will never get out on parole - he'll never see the light of day again, and some attorney won't be able to get him off on a technicality. Keep Heaven safe until the rest of us get there to relieve you of your watch.

My family would like to send our condolences to the family, friends, & fellow co-workers of P.O. Gary Buro. You're in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God give you the strength to carry on and help heal your hearts. May you find comfort in those around you.
I'd like to express my gratitude to all the brave men & women in law enforcement who continue to do their jobs everyday. May God watch over you & keep you safe.

How sad it is that a veteran as well as a 9-11 hero comes to Chesterfield county to escape all of the tragedy that he endured elsewhere only to get shot and killed by someone who supposedly upheld the law in his profession.

For whatever reason, God took this wonderful person from all of us but most especially his family who must now figure out how to live with all of this and not be bitter.

May Officer Buro rest in peace where ever he is and know that the citizens he promised to protect appreciate him and will miss him greatly. May his family find the strength to cope with their horrendous grief.

Thank you OFficer Buro, for being you.

Even though I didn't know you personally, we both wear the Chesterfield "green" and the badge..that makes us brothers. So the sadness is deep. Chesterfield has lost a dedicated "keeper of the peace". To the Buro family, my deepest sympathies and to my brothers and sisters on south mids...stay strong and stay safe.

May you rest in eternal peace and never be forgotten for your sacrafice.

Every morning when I sit down after my shift and open internet explorer to read my email www.odmp.org is the page that opens up first. I am always saddened in seeing a new addition to the page as I sit and read about the hero that has died. There but for the grace of God go I, or any of us really.

We have lost another brave man in the line of duty. Our hearts are sadden and here at the Chauffeur Internet Radio send our deepest sympathy's and condolences to the family, friends, and his brothers and sisters that wear the badge and keep the rest of us safe 24/7.
A Part Of America Died,
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

REST IN PEACE

D/S M.S.WARD
YORK COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE

May 5, 2006

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Gary, rest easy brother, we have the watch.
