Life is too short and too wonderful to end at such a young age. It isn't easy to protect ourselves as police officers when we don't know when and where the danger will come in to our duty. None will be prepared for such a day and may we all take care of what we have for today. We might not meet tomorrow.

To Jeremy, his loved ones, friends and co-workers:
I am so saddened to hear of yet another young life lost in the line of duty. Thank you Jeremy for the supreme sacriface. You Jeremy are a true hero. My prayers are with all of you that loved Jeremy I know a part of you left on April 24, 2006. I will continue to remember you in my prayers as the days turn into weeks and ultimately years. May God bless you all and keep you all safe. I will carry a candle in honor and remembrance of you during police week. May God rap his arms around you all and hold you close. I am so sorry.

Officer Chambers,

You were taken from us all too early in your life, but you made an impact on all who met you. I know a friend of yours and she has told me all about you and your dedication to your family, friends and community. May God bless you and your family always.

My sympathy and prayers go to Jeremy's family. Your son set
the bar high and he measured up in every respect not only as a public servent but as a wonderful man. God must have
needed him in heaven. Let your grief turn to pride and know God will protect him now instead of Jeremy protecting
our community.

Resident of Cahokia & friend

To the family, friends, & fellow officers of Jeremy Chambers
My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through this very emotional time. As the wife of a police officer I can only imagine the pain and heartache you must all be experiencing with this untimely loss. I can also only imagine the sense of pride you must be feeling seeing the impact that Jeremy has left on so many lives that he has touched. He was truely a gift from God to all who had the honor of knowing him. Stand tall and proud, for Jeremy would want that. Be proud of who he was, what he stood for, and what he so strongly believed in. To Jeremy's mother and father; Hero's aren't born they are made. He was walking proudly in the footsteps of his father and big brother who are heros as well. Jeremy is a hero to many people whose lives he was able to touch with the special gift he was given from God. Be so very proud of him!!!!

To the family, co-workers, and friends of Officer Chambers. I didn’t personally know Officer Chambers, however I went to school with his older brother and currently live in the community he selflessly protected. I watched the news reports and was touch/inspired by the service history such a young man compiled in such a short time of service, and realized the pride his mother and father must harbor for this young hero. That pride will never leave your memory. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and all the members of the Cahokia Police Department.

To the family of Officer Chambers I want to express my utmost gratitude, for the sacrifice you have given to the community of Cahokia. Your son(s) give the protection that is often taken for granted. May the memory of your fallen hero, remind us all of the courage and brave deeds that the Cahokia Peace Officers and other departments provide to their respective communities around the world.

May time and the deep admiration that has been expressed for your son heal your sorrow and pain. God Bless.

Our condolences and prayers go out to the family of Officer Jeremy Chambers. It is a sad time when an officer such as Jeremy' s life is taken at such an early time in his life. We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

While I did not know Jeremy very well he went to school and worked with my fiancee. Just a few weeks ago I had to call the ambulance for my daughter and he came by the house just to check and see if she was ok, he even came over and fixed our water heater at eleven oclock at night. He and his family are in my prayers and I hope to God the justice system doesn't fail him and his family. He has done more in his short life than most of us will do if we live to see 100. He will always be young and I know he is with God now.

Your end of watch came too soon Jeremy. I still remember you being about 2 feet tall running around the yard acting like your daddy the policeman. Seeing those old pictures of you today at the funeral warmed my heart. You were loved by all who knew you. And know you father was proud of you. What more can a son ask! Keep an eye on the rest of us until our end of watch when we will meet again.

May God Bless the Peacekeepers and give their families strength to endure this pain. Thank you, Officer Chambers, for keeping US safe. About twenty years ago we lost a Gwinnett County DUI Officer after a drunk driver hit him from behind. The anger in this community was felt for a very long time. I can only pray that Justice is hard and swift for this worthless person! Rest in the arms of the Angels and know that you will never be forgotten. Godspeed.
