Reflections for Police Officer Joseph Daniel Corr

To the entire Corr family- you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through the most difficult weeks ahead. We had the opportunity to meet all of you at the candlelight vigil here in Rochester. Know that just because miles seperate us, we will never forget Joe's sacrifice and the sacrifice that all of you made on that day. We lost Andy a few days after Joe, and the pain has not diminished. God Bless all of you!

Joe you walked that thin blue line not for the glory but because of who you are, and you made the ultimate sacrifice to keep that thin blue line strong. It is so hard to believe that it is almost a year ago that we lost you.

It's our first Christmas without you here, Joe. But you are in our hearts and loved every minute of the day. Katy was so beautiful in her Christmas dress. As Tracie said tonight, she'd have you wrapped right around her finger. We held a candlelight ceremony around the table and we all spoke about you. I was very nice. Kelly did a great job of organizing it and also giving each of us beautiful candles with your picture on them and poems. It just seems to be another day.. We'll go to Byrne Dairy and the grave tomorrow. I love you, honey. God Bless.

Merry Christmas Joe. We are all lost without and there is not a day that we don't think about you, talk about you and shed our tears. We had our family bowling tournament yesterday and you were surely missed. George and Flip beat us all. You are always in our hearts and you are loved so very much.

To Officer Corr's Wife, Daughter and Family:
Know that you are not alone. We have lost 5 members this year, 3 in the line of duty, and 2 in horrible accidents. We know this holiday season is a difficult one for many in the law enforcement community. We will never forget your son's sacrifice or the sacrifice that all of you made on that day. Our thoughts, prayers and hearts continue to go out to all of you! God Bless!

Dear Joe, I am so proud of you. Yesterday we all went to an awards ceremony. You were chosen by a special committee to receive the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police Medal of Honor. It was given to Tracie at the same ceremony you attended every year to receive the DWI award you worked so hard for. You were loved and admired by so many. And the lives that you touched beyond your family..... Rest my dear one and always remember that I love you. I wish I was able to have said goodbye.

Last night we recognized and remembered your service at our annual candle light memories vigil. Two of your co workers and your family traveled the distance to join us in honoring you among the many fallen officers that we lost this year in NY State. God bless you and your family as well as your police family.

Daily, as I look accross my lawns at your driveway,
expecting to see you comming or going with the
dogs and with your daughter in tow, and then, suddenly realality rears its head....Life is not fair,,,and
the hurt we feel is over whelming. You are cared about
Joe and missed so, so much....The saying that life goes on,
well that's true, so is the fact, the pain also goes on..
the hurt, the missing and the memories that we have.....

Joe, I was reading a friend's reflections and noticed your mom had left one on his page. His name is Lawrence Barnes. I hope the two of you have met and exchanged stories. Im sure Lawrence will tell ya a few anyway. He always has one to make you laugh.

I feel so much emotion for your mom and your family. Please keep an eye on them they will need all the help they can get with the holidays coming up. I will say a prayer for them as well.

Rest easy, we have the watch from here. Enjoy your time on the golden highway hero. God Speed!

Hey Joe,

I think about you and miss you evey day... It's hunting season now and I'm reminded of you everytime I step into the woods. Opening day for Southern gun is this weekend. It's hard to believe I won't be meeting you for coffee, hearing you on the radio and planning our next move.

Keep us all safe down here...

Missing you.

George

Not a day goes by that I don think of Joe and his family. I worked with Joe for several years and he was a very devoted police office and family man, and always willing to give of himself. I miss his smiling face so much, but rest in peace brother and know you and your family are in my prayers everyday.
