Reflections for Sergeant Henry Prendes

My heart and prayers go out to Dawn, Brooke and Kylee. Henry was one of the most influential people in my life. He was a guy who stood out amongst others, people admired him. I have so many wonderful memories of Henry that I will never forget. He was allways there when you needed advice and a friend, even in a different state, he would call, out of the blue just to see what was going on, and how I was doing. I can remember him taking time and giving me advice while waiting to board an airplane with his wife and two girls on there way to Mexico for a family vacation. This was the kind of guy he was, caring, strong, and kind, I miss him dearly as do we all who knew him. He has changed my life in so many ways, mostly my relationship with god, Henry would allways tell me " you need get right with God bro" and I thank him for that. I look at him as an older brother that I never had. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Can't wait for hunting season bro. R.I.P. my brother, love you bro. can't wait to see you.

I couldn't believe it when I saw Sgt. Prendes profiled on America's Most Wanted's segment "In the Line of Duty" tonight. I recognized him immediately. Although I didn't know him personally, I saw him numerous times on the TV show "COPS." As a result, I felt that I somewhat knew him.

I was taken aback when I saw that he had been killed. My heart sank as I saw him profiled and I felt that I had lost one of my best friends.

May God bless him and his family. May He help ease their tremendous pain.

I never had the honor of meeting Sgt. Henry Prendes, and cannot feel the deep loss, hurt, and sorrow his family feels, yet at the same time, not be able to move on from that horrible day. It all hits too close to home. I am proud to live in the city of Las Vegas and have such wonderful, honorable Officers who give there all every day in the line of duty. THANK YOU! Henry, you did not only fall a hero, but lived a hero! May you watch over your family, who need you so badly, but rest knowing that the entire Las Vegas Police Dept. have your watch from here!
To Henry's entire family, I cannot express how "sorry" I am for your loss. May he give you signs to let you know he is with you always, and may you have peace that one day, when God is ready, will you all meet again for eternity.

They made a song for you Henry! It was beautiful.

I told Sergeant Prendes story to our church today. We are the community where the fugitve from Massachusetts shot and killed one of our police officers,Jim Self, just a few weeks ago. I just gave Sergeant Prendes story to the local police force this afternoon.
Several people were born again today in our service and the local police force was thankful for the testimony of faith. Would you let his family know that he continues to touch the world through his faith?
Thank you,

We are so blessed to have had you in our lives. We thank you for being our friend, for always having time for our family. You have changed so many lives, my friend, including ours for the better. There are hundreds and hundreds of stories of people committing their lives to Christ because of your love for Him. Your unwaivering faith, your God given ability to spread the word on the streets of Las Vegas, your devotion and love for God, family, friends, co-workes, as well as complete strangers have have made us stronger and more dedicated to continuing your mission of spreading God's word and His love. We promise will always be there for Dawn, Kylee and Brooke in whatever they need or want. We are committed to help fulfill your dream of a camp for underpriviledged children. We love you Henry Prendes and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you've done for everyone you came in contact with. We know that you are now wrapped in the arms of Jesus in Heaven and we know we'll see you when it's our time. Until then .....

Sgt. Prendes, yesterday I received an e-mail with information to call your mom, which by a coincidence lives in my city, my husband Officer Emilio Miyares, died working for the city your mom lives at, I belong to COPS and that is why I received that e-mail in order to contact her. Today, I called and left a message for her to call me and decided to come back to your page and read your reflections, I always knew but by reading I really believe that God selects the Police Officers, I was reading and found not only a good man but a man of God who believed in his job, and died for it(my husband was 27 years old when he died and like you, he served God, did his police work from his heart and died doing what he loved to do LE) I know that when I finally speak to your mom, I will take my hat off to her for raising the wonderful son that she had. To your wife, your not alone we are here for you, for your kids, Daddy was and always be a Hero but most important, he will ALWAYS be your daddy.

God Bless you, your family and friends..
