Dinwiddie Co. Sheriff's Department(VA.)

Billy Jack, I never had the pleasure of knowing you personally, but I didn't have to. I know many of your TXDPS brothers and sisters and know that they are ALL mourning your loss as if you were their direct family. I've been in law enforcement for many years and have never seen a closer-knit agency than DPS. While the department in general has evolved over the years, nothing has changed the spirit and pride exhibited by every man or woman who has worn that little round badge. I have no doubt that if you could do it, you'd dust yourself off and go right back to work on the road.

May God Bless you and your family.

Billy,

I sat next to you for 27 weeks during the academy. We experienced a lot of tough and trying times and not once did I ever hear you complain. You were always somebody I could talk to when I didn't think I could take it any more and for that I'll always be thankful. I remember you volunteering to be stationed in West Texas even though you were from Huntsville so other people could get the assignments they wanted. Thanks for your service and sacrifice. You'll never be forgotten.

Mrs Zachary,

I watch as my friends daughter is growing up so fast. Looking more and more like her Daddy every day. She sees him in her dreams, where he holds her in his arms and sings to her as she sleeps. You see, her daddy was taken from her too, in the line of duty. She was just 11 months old.

She has an even bigger family now. Filled with so many that love her and tell her about her wonderful daddy. You too have that family. It stretches to the end of the earth. Billy will find his way to you and your cherished baby. Watch for his signs. They are there, and HE is there. He will forever your guardian angel.

You are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless you
