Reflections for Police Officer Kay Frances Rogers

My thoughts are with your family on this first anniversary of your end of watch. I know that this past year was very hard on all of those that love and miss you. There was not an hour that passed that you were not thought of by one of your loved ones. You are a true hero and heroes never die. Continue to watch over your loved ones and those still out on patrol. You will never be forgotten.

I only knew you for awhile
but I can remember that friendly smile
Small and petite, quite and shy
You left our Department but I didn't know why
We followed your career on each beat
You got to Murfreesboro with their fleet
I checked with Rick every now and then
To keep tabs on you because you both are friends
You've gone now to ride in the sky
Up there with the Angels, oh so high
I know you'll be missed by all below
So maybe we'll join you when our time comes to go.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

I didn't know her, but she was always present. When I was taking my MSF course at MTSU, she was in the vacant parking lot beside us practicing her slow moves on her m'cycle. She cited my niece for an illegal lane change, thank goodness she was there to be a role model for her. My sister helped her pick up her dropped bike at a local restaurant, Officer Rogers reminded us that we all are vulnerable in all trafic situations.

Thank you Officer Rogers, I'm going to miss you.

God be with the family and police community. It is a hard thing to go through, we just lost one of our men in blue the beginning of Oct and it is something you never want to hear or think about. God be with her Family,Friends and all. Be with those dispatcher working that day and his co-workers. That is something I dont wish for anyone to have to go through.

Kay,
Thank you for your years of service. It takes a certain personality to be a police officer. One who thinks of others before themselves, one who is fair, one who is brave. God bless you.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
