I've known Lt. Cabral since I was a young child and the impact that he made on myself and many others in the community of Swansea is indelible. To the family, friends and fellow officers, I extend to you heartfelt and sincere sympathy for the loss of Sgt. Cabral. His loss will undoubtedly leave a hole in many's hearts and souls.

I never had the opportunity to meet you, but without question you must have been a man that undoubtedly helped many and protected even more. I hope that you will be remembered as a hero to all.

This incident is a constant reminder to all of us... uniformed and civilian ... of the perils of drunk driving. Another officer has again been senselessly loss -just as my close friend Bridgeton (MO) Officer Scott Armstrong was killed earlier this year (EOW 1-12-05).

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Mr. Cabral. I have very fond memories of Bob roaming the halls of Case High, some 20 years ago. He always had something nice to say. This man was a gentleman, a tireless volunteer and was dedicated to the youth of Swansea. The world would be a better place with more people in the mold of Bobby Cabral. Sir, you will be
missed by the thousands of lives you touched.
