My prayers to all of the Ortiz Familia for the loss of Jerry. A great hero who's intention was only to protect us from the evil that took him away. My family and I remeber Jerry growing up in the same neighbor of "El Monte" and our proud to say that the brief game of baseball that was played with him or even just had a short conversation with him was just enough to say that we knew of a great hero. I hope that your faith in God and support will help you through this loss. A tragedy that hits too close to home brings more saddness to a heart, than you can ever imagine. I will continue to pray for you in hopes that God will only continue to bless you with the reflections that Jerry has left behind.
God Bless...

CHELA,
THOUGH I HAVE NEVER MET YOU OR JERRY,
YOU HAVE BEEN IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS SINCE THE DAY JERRY WAS TAKEN FROM YOU. MY HEART ACHES SO MUCH FOR YOU AND I WISH THAT I CAN JUST HUG YOU AND BRING YOU SOME PEACE AND COMFORT. I KNOW AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EASE YOUR PAIN BUT REMEMBER AND KNOW THAT JERRY IS IN HEAVEN AND IS NOW YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MEMORIES OF JERRY CLOSE TO YOUR HEART AND CHERISH THEM FOREVER. HE WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO LIVE THROUGH YOU AND HIS TWO BOYS. KNOW THAT HE WAS AT HIS HAPPIEST EVER IN HIS LIFE AND HE LOVED YOU SO DEARLY.
GOD BLESS YOU CHELA AND CONTINUE TO BE STRONG. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU AND JERRY'S FAMILY.

Im so sad about Deputy Ortiz. Him and his family have been constantly on my mind since this happened. My mother works for LASD and shes deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy. My heart hurts for his family and I pray that God comforts them in their mourning and in the days to come. How terrible that a great person could be taken away from friends and family who love him and so many lives can be affected and changed forever by exactly the same type of low life that Deputy Ortiz was trying to protect us citizens and the streets we walk on from. Deputy Ortiz is a true hero and his picture should be in the dictionary next to the word hero.

May God bless him and his family!!

To Dep Otriz's Family and fellow Brother and Sister's,
My deepest sympathy goes to you in this horribly tragic time. Being a dispatcher and fiance' to an LAPD officer, I can't imagine the feelings you are enduring at this time. Hopefully all of the good memories will hold dear to your heart and help ease the pain of such a great loss. I hope you know God will be with you during this time and thanks you for giving him back such a great hero to protect his streets now. God bless you, stay strong!
