To the (MEN and WOMEN of the Jackson Police Department)you lost a great hero who showed that he was a true warrior. It's good to know you have officers such as he. It's sad and makes me sick to see officers who are killed leaving family, friends, and co-workers behind. To the coward that did this! if only you could hear my voice, may your soul be lost! God bless you Officer Catchings your family and department will not be forgotten. The state of Mississippi should be very proud, the rest of the country is.

Officer Catchings,
You are a role model that we look up to. You showed your loyalty to the badge you wore and you are looked up at with such great respect. You showed no fear and exemplified courage and strength. Thank you sir.

Everyday we put the uniform on we expect to come back home and take it off again. Some of us like our brother Thomas, die wearing it. They gave the ultimate sacrifice, to keep the peace, and never return home again. Everytime I visit this site I get an awful feeling in my gut...we've lost another one, and it seems there is no end. God bless the family of patrolman Catchings and help them through this tragic time. We are ALL feeling your pain. To my brother's and sister's of the Jackson PD, stay strong and stick together, and please wear your vest's!
May our brother's soul rest in eternal peace. Amen

To The Catchings Family: As I reflect on the horror of this tragedy, my heart goes out to you. God knows the sorrow and pain you are facing now and in times to come without your love one. Try to remember Christ is the light that will never go out, the eye that never closes and the ear that's open to the prayers we are praying for you. May God comfort and give you His peace

To the family of Officer Catchings: My heart goes out to his wife, and three children. I remember Officer Catchings when he used to help patrol the traffic for my daughter's school. I would always see him talking to the crossing guard, and the mere presence of him made me as a mother feel more better,so that my daughter and the rest of the school body would feel safe from the presence of an officer. I would see him on his motorcyle riding up and down Northside Dr.,or either in the police cruiser. He will greatly be missed, and I'm sure he's looking down from heaven, smiling upon his wife, kids, and rest of family. To his wife:God will always be with you and your children, because what does not kill us, will make us stronger, God didn't bring you this far to leave you now. Sincerely,

I grew up in Jackson and know that it is a brutal place with unforgiving streets. You were brave to protect her. Rest in peace, brother.

I didn't personally know Officer Catchings but he is a child of God. I am so sorry for your loss but the Lord knows what is best. Just simply remember: When you are down to nothing, God is up to something. Don't think of it as a loss to you but a gain for the Lord. You will definitely meet again. God bless you and keep you in your time of sorrow.
