To the family and friends and to the BPD family, I am the wife of fallen Officer Sgt. Howard Stevenson, CPD. Officer Scott Armstrong sounds like he has many true friends and people that love him. Our Howie is like that too. Howard gave his life like Scott did...serving! To read all the beautiful words that everyone of you wrote about Officer Scott Armstrong,reminds me of our life. I wish none of you would know the pain that we all share. We all know what Hero's they are,and I know they are in God's special place. Stick together and support one another. Our prayers are with all of you daily. Howard was killed two days before your Scott. I'm sorry that I'm writing so late.,I did not know this web site was here. Thank you for your sacrifice. Wish it could be the last... Mrs. Howard Stevenson

Scott;
We had a HUGE fundraiser for MADD this weekend, just feet from where you died. We raised over $50,000 to help victims of the violent crime that took your life. It really meant a lot to drive by your cross as we were preparing for our event.

Thanks for bieng with us, and helping me heal up so quick. Remember to keep sending those signs to everyone like have been coming so far.

May god bless those of us who protect. Keep us all safe!

Scott;
Wow, what a weekend. April left some flowers at your grave for everyone to see. I couldnt go with her because I got burned kinda bad on Saturday. Your mom was laughing at my face and took a picture of my blisters. It looks like a commercial for why kids should not play with fire. Just a hint....If you are going to light a bon-fire, dont let the fumes flare up in your face, but hey, I didnt need eyebrows anyway. I am sure you would have gotten a HUGE laugh out of your sisters husband looking like KFC extra tasty crispy. Your dad gets a kick out of calling me torch.

But anyway, I know it could have been much worse, and lots of people have told me how lucky I am and that someone must be watching over me.

I cleaned up your cross on 370. Everyone get aggrivated by the cross someone has put up for the drunk, but what can we do? Part of me wants to put up a sign next to it saying that Drunk Drivers are murderers, but part of me says it is part of his family healing.

Well, have a good memorial day. I am sure we would be at the lake sitting at the Horny Toad, checking out the "attendants".

Well bro, keep us safe, continue to watch over your family.

And remember like always, god bless those of us who protect.

Scotty,

Scotty still miss ya every day at roll call when i'm sitting there. I can still see ya leaning against the wall with that sly look on your face. Danny boy and I talked about ya while in Cancun. We had one of those nights we used to have staying out till the sun came up. Your missed buddy, and I wont ever forget you.

Scott,

I have to agree with Matt, you are here with us and we know it. Thanks for sending me signs when I am talking to you. I know you are aware of everything that is going on here. Everyone will be fine, its just going to take time. You have touched so many people. I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me. I will never, ever forget you Scott. I miss you more and more everyday. Not a day has gone by I have not cried cause I miss you.

Watch over all those that love you! Keep us all safe.

Scott,

We went to the lake for the first time this last weekend. Karen misses you a whole lot and wanted to be there, but just really couldn’t. Your dad wants to keep the condo and jet ski, which I am for sure going to do. I had a beer for ya at the Horny Toad, that place is huge now. We for sure would have hung out there and remembered the good old times, and I am sure you would have still harassed me about marrying your sister.

April and I gave your mom a DVD for mothers day with a bunch of pictures. We all watched it and cried, until we saw the goofy pictures of you and April. I must say, the knee-high socks were a nice touch on you, and April's rainbow suspenders just say it all.

Thanks for all the reminders to everyone that you are still here with us, it really helps us all through. We will make it, but we know there are many hard times ahead.

Keep us safe as we protect! You know like I always say, this is what I love to do, but we could never go through this again.

Rest in peace brother, see ya soon.

Scott,
I know it must be so hard for you to watch from above and see the pain your family and friends have to live with every moment. We were with your family this weekend at the police memorial in Jefferson City. The candle light service on Friday night was very touching. The Saturday service was an unbelievable tribute to all of the officers that died in the line of duty in Missouri. Your sister's husband Matt and his brother Todd were in their uniforms. (Your family puts a whole new meaning on the "police family".) It is always so impressive to see all the men and women in uniform, coming together from all over the state, to pay tribute to the officers that lost their lives doing the job that they loved to do. I know so many other officers would have been there if they were not working or had prior commitments.
My heart breaks for your mom. This was her first mothers day without you. I am sure your sister and your dad tried very hard, along with you from heaven, to make her mothers day very nice. She will always have that hole in her heart that will never mend. Please help her and the rest of your family and friends.

Your family will be in my prayers,

Chris Sloan

Actually the credit from the Sloan family deserves to go to TPR Todd Barthelmass from MSHP.

He is the brother of Matt. But hey, a brother in blue is a brother in blue.

Missouri has had enough fine officers killed lately. Enough is enough.

Ralph, Bob, Nick, Scott, Molly, Carl, Mike, Brad.......watch over us.

May god bless those of us who protect!

Last weekend your brother in law, Matt Barthelmass, helped my husband who was in a car accident on Hwy 270. Having lost his son, Officer Bob Stanze in August of 2000, his nephew in a car accident in May of 2001 and his brother in a car accident in July 2004..this was a very frightening situation for us all. While everything turned out fine, thank God! Bob still talks about how kind Matt was at the scene of the accident. It was just another example of all of you Angels in Blue sending someone to help family and friends. Bless you and your family. Thank you Matt...while you may not have felt you did anything special...know that you did and we are very grateful You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Scott;

A friend of yours gave his life today doing what we all love so much. I know you and Ralph are for sure up above talking guns.

I cant say how much your sister and I miss you. You were such a huge part of our lives, and always will be. We are headed to the lake for the first time soon, it just won't be the same without you. I can't bring myself to go to Hot Shots either, no girls gone wild night is the same without you there. As I walked in the back door today, all I could think about was the keys to my house, and that made me stop and laugh. Your toast to us was a true welcome to the family for me. You have always been there for me and I know you always will. Your laugh, smile, and good nature will live forever in our minds.

Keep us safe this year, and over times to come. We love you and miss you!!

April has become close with the Sloan's, and we always tell Matt Browning how excited you were to see him overcome what he went through.

Keep us safe. I pray for those that do what we do everynight.

Love ya and miss ya
Matt
