Hey,

Wanted to talk for a bit their has been a lot going on Lanie is now 6 we had a good time for her party, we went to kings island and meet lisa grandma and grandpa. She has been sick all week and we just found out today after 3 trips to the ER what is wrong kinda makes me mad it took them so long but you know. For some reasone every tme I come on here I have soo much to tell you and just cant find the words, Lisa has been wonderfull with helping as much as she can.

We went back to New York for 9-11 first time back in five years, was realy hard but very healing at the same time. I went back to the 10-10 fire house it looked realy good. They were selling t-shirts that said "House 10-10 still standing" I bought one for me and lanie. It was kind of strang e though talking to the different people and seeing all the different shirts and signs people had(some of them not so good)

Lanie has started school she likes it A LOT like we knew she would, her teacher says she is doing realy well. She brings homework home about 2 times a week and she does realy good on that you would be so proud of her.

Oh, Melissa, I spent some time missing you today as I was going through my house and thinking about you and the kids. I haven't been in the best of health and I have been cautious in not letting Lanie seeing me sick. I look okay but the diabetes is flaring out of control and that makes all other things bad. I wish you were here to remind me to take care of me. It is amazing to think of Lanie in kindergarten. I am glad Lisa could be there the first day, it means so much. I hope that I can enjoy some of her kindergarten years and special things that she will be doing. I care for her and Owen so much, and I pray for them often, sometimes in the back of my mind continually. Miss you, Grandma Denise

your beautiful daughter had her first day of kindergarten last week and she looked adorable. she was so very excited to go to school and play!!! she told me that everything went well, but they didn't play until school was about to let out!!! we all know how smart and capable lanie is, so it will be fun watching her grow in her education.

I know its been a while just been realy busy. Lanies has started school, that was realy hard for me but she did a great job. Lisa was their for her first morning she was a big help and Lanie was so glad to see her! I cant say a lot right now but we do miss you very much, not a day goes by that I dont think about you and wish you were still here.

We went to see Owen, Lanie loves Colorado it was realy nice their.

What a sad week it's been. The death of Officer Kaiser from the heart attack was bad enough but losing Sgt. Deck to an anyeurism made it worse. I'm sure you and Bryan have greeted Larry and Stan.

I remember being in Washington about a year ago. This year, I chose not to go because I have such sad memories of your death and for Bryan, whose name will be added this year to the wall. So many officers die and my heart goes to all of them. I wish I could be with Lanie and Owen. I didn't get Owen's card out to him for his birthday because I started crying, remembering when you gave birth to him. I pray the officer's families get the warmth and love that they need on this trip. Watch over Rob, Lanie and Irene in Washington.
