I only met Officer Logan on a couple of occasions, but I remember enjoying his company and I can recall appreciating his kindness, dedication, and humility. He was one of those few, gifted people you meet in your lifetime and later realize what a lasting impression they left upon you. Thank you John for your dedication. Thank you for your love to mankind.

Your passing strengthens my commitment to law enforcement and it defines my purpose on this earth. My sorrow will never fade into complacency, and I will always fight until the job is done. I promise I will do this for you and for our families.

Until we meet again…

May God Bless You and Your Family John Logan. It is hard for me to write this because I still expect you to come in my office to have me sign a complaint or warrant for you. I truly will miss your inflectious smile and attitude. I know in the perfect world, Police Officers and Court Personnel are not suppose to be close, but in our small community we see each other everyday and before long you become friends. I always looked forward to your comments and suggestions on matters concerning the city. I along with every officer in this nation wishes they could have been there with you.

I know if heaven has a highway, your there making sure everyone is being safe. John, I miss you.

To the family and friends of Officer Logan,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one and such a protector and hero to your community. I hope that you can always honor his memory by staying close to and comforting each other through these difficult and sad times ahead, and that his law enforcement family can keep fighting for all that he stood for and believed in. I hope that Officer Logan's children will grow up to learn what an awesome father they were blessed with, and that God can comfort and be with them and his wife in their grief. You are all in my prayers as you go through this painful time of loss.

Every time I get free from my daily duties which include a third watch patrol in a medium sized city, caring for a 14 month old, court, part time security and everything else that encompasses life for a single monther/cop, I view this web page. Without fail I cry tears of pain and sorrow for the newly widowed wives, childless parents and parentless children. I cry for the fallen heroes who will never see their new babies, children graduate, daughters marry or grandchildren. Today was no different. I cry for everyone. And then I thank the heroes for the sacrafice. Everyone should do the same. We can all find comfort and peace, knowing that they gave their lives doing what they loved to do, and what not many others are selfless enough to do.
