To Officer John Edward Logan, his wife and sons, and his loved ones:

On this the second anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.

Officer Logan, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, March 14, 2006 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer John Edward Logan who died in the line of duty on this date two years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Logan’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Soon it will be 2 years that you were called away. I know there are many questions as to why, since there was so much for you still to do here. So many broken hearts have been left behind. Those that love you will keep your memory alive forever. Keep watch over them and help them with their grief. Their lives have been changed forever and the only advice I can give is that they take one day at a time. You have not been forgotten and you are a true hero.

Dear Friend,

I miss you so much, and I still remember that day as much of us still do. I remember getting off work when the call was put out. At the time working as a Jailor for Angelina County, and hearing that put a stop to my heart. I often reflect just how much of a impact you had with all of us, your co-workers and friends. We do miss you sir, and we miss your wonderful attitude you brought into the Jail. Always with a laugh and smile, no matter what kind of day you had.

I, as well as many others, will miss you so very much.

To the family of Officer Logan,

Thank you for the kind reflection you left on my husband's site.

I wanted to take a moment to tell you that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you begin another New Year without your beloved husband and father. Please know that he is not forgotten.
