I read of Officer Watsons death in the Kalamazoo Gazette and was horrified to hear that he was a Michigan Native. It is heartbreaking to know that another officer has died in the line of duty.

I only pray that justice will prevail.

God Speed Brother in blue.

Yet another swift punch to the gut as I read thebackup this morning & find we've lost another fine officer. My deepest sympathies go out to John's family, friends and colleages in this horrible time. Last month, my husband's department lost a young officer (Matthew Pavelka, E.O.W. 11-15-03), the first officer killed in 82 years. We greive alongside you. Thank you John, for doing the job and fighting the fight. You are a hero to me.

God Bless you.

I wish to extend my condolances to the Watson family. As a police officer we are asked to do a job no one else wants. There is no glory in it, only satisfaction when we hear someone say "thank you."

Thank you for allowing John to serve his community so valiantly. Although he paid the ultimate sacrafice, he has earned his place with the Lord.

There is no one who knows the stress or uncertainty in the life of a police officer like a spouse. There is also no one who can know the pain and sorrow you feel. Only know that he has not gone in vain.

My prayers are with you and your family.

With my highest degree of respect and admiration, I come forward to honor you. You represent what is truly great about the people who have chose this profession.
I've heard about how you helped each officer who joined
the Kenai Police Department. Well... you also serve as an
inspiration to the young men and woman within the Explorer
Scout Program. My two sons have mentioned so many times
how you have helped and encouraged them as Explorer Scouts. Justin has told me how you always had that, "Hey kid,
how's it going?" "How are you doing kid?" "Good to see you."
You and all to Officers at Kenai PD are not just great Officers
you are great people too.
I'll miss our talks outside the Pre-Trial complex. You brought the best out of everyone.
Since you are a Christian I live in certain hope that I'll see you on the other side.

Big John who always greeted me with a big smile and a big hug to match. I will miss you! Sadly you are not the first officer I have known to be taken from us, your friends and family. I pray you will be able to send your comforting spirit to those who need it. You taught many over the years and a little of you will go on with them. God Bless those you left behind .. I know you are safe now and in a place of peace and beauty, but still I wish you had been able to stay. Give a Big John hug to Bob, Kevin and John B. who no doubt welcomed you when you arrived.
