Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Matthew Michael Pavelka

Officer Pavelka -
You are truly a hero and will never be forgotten. You are one of few who accepted the risk and carried on with courage and strength. You leave behind those who will do the same in your honor and our other brothers and sisters who we have lost protecting our streets.
May your family be at peace knowing you are in a better place and will also be known as a true hero.

Rest in Peace.

S/R Deputy Sheriff
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department

My heart felt sympathies to the family and fellow officers of Ofc. Pavelka. I too am a police officer and an ex- USAF Security Policeman, and know the personal dangers we all face in our jobs. May the good Lord be with all his friends and family during this terrible time. Another brother in blue had been called home to protect heaven.

It was an honor to have worked by your side my friend. You were just one week younger than me so I felt pretty close to you. As you know, I usually don't open up to many people but as I worked with you more and eventually began to hang out with you outside of work, I knew you were a friend that I could rely on.

Every time I made a traffic stop as your district partner, you were always there to back me up, even when I did not ask for assistance. You are a true Police Officer and warrior. Thanks for the good times together. I will never forget you and you will always be my hero.

I know you are always watching over us while we are patrolling and sometimes laughing at us when we do dumb things. Don't worry "Red", we will get around to that code 7 we never got to take that night.

God bless you and your family.

With love and respect, 1L14 Officer Macias

There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer. Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.
According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because it is honored by God.

To the Family of Police Officer Matthew Pavelka and the Burbank Police Department, your family of Law Enforcement Officers grieve with you during this time. Officer Pavelka though our badges are different, rest in peace with the other fallen heros, my brother. We will continue the fight in your honor.

Though we never met, and fate has taken you from this eart in your early life. You were my brother in arms and in uniform. The job and dangers you were faced with you accpeted. My condolances to you and your family, for we have lost a fellow officer, and blue beret. You rose to the challenge to protect and serve, knowing you put your own life at risk. I am proud of what you have done and proud that you have been associated with us in the career field. My beret is off to you my lost brother, may you rest in peace.
