Reflections for Police Officer Kelli Lee Lambert

I first met Kelli when we worked at Long John Silvers together, then later, I got married to a fellow graduate of hers. We occasionally spoke when we saw each other but it never got into any deep conversation until she saved my brother's like twice. I could never thank her enough for how she helped me. She was the only officer that my brother would confide in, and the only one that could ever talk some sense into. She always told me that my brother and Zach look so much alike that it's eery, so one day if possible, I would love to meet her brother. He is a part of the reason she cared so much to put in the extra effort to help my brother, and for that, I owe her everything. I would trade Kelli places in a heartbeat if it were possible. She deserves to be down here doing what she loves, but she also deserves to be in heaven, where she can continue to watch over us and live forever peacefully and without any pain or sorrow. Thank you so much for everything Kelli. We all miss you!

Where can I get the words to describe such a wonderful person and exemplary colleague. When I look back, I think of all the great experiences we had together. Not just on duty, but off duty as well. I think of the laughs and smiles and the adversities that we all came through together. The calls we responded to and the times we just rode around and talked. I remember all the pranks between us. You gave us just as much as we gave you. There will always be a special place in our hearts for you, Kelli. And one day, when we reunite, our hearts can be full again. Until then, watch over us Kelli, and patrol our streets as only you can...

Kelli sweetie,
Your Aunt Beffie loves and adores you. Even though you were the orneriest child your mother had. But that orneriness made you unique in a special way. You and your Papa Pierce were much alike with your pranks, your good sense of humor and your big tender hearts. Your warm and loving smile would light up any room when you walked in. The way you lived should give everyone pause because there are only a few certain ones that can open up to so many and touch as many lives that you have touched. When you, Mimi and Bubba were little and Bubba would act like he was going to step on a bug, you would say, "Don't squish that bug!" And if he stepped on it anyway, you cried like your little heart was broken. You always did wear your heart on your sleeve, even when you got older. I remember a time when you laid on the ground with your pigtails flopping, watching ants for the longest time. Then you looked up with your eyes bright with wonderment and asked, "Beffie, how does these ants carry big things on their backs without breaking them?" And as always, I tried to explain, but you had other things on your mind. You were never still for too long. Your facination and zeel for life was beyond comprehension. You loved what you did and you are loved for the way you lived your life. You grew up to be a beautiful young woman. I'm so proud of your
accomplishments and what you have managed to acheive in your short and wonderful life. I miss you terribly, Kell. I love you, baby! Please take care of Papa and Millie and let mommy know from time to time that you're still here with her. OK! Love ya, Bethie

Kelli, you will be greatly missed. We didn't know you personally, but we have known your dad and step-mom for several years. Your dad is very proud of you and he talks about you all the time. We know that you are still keeping watch over Wellston from Heaven. Rest in Peace Kelli.

Kelli, there isn't a day that goes by that you don't cross my mind. I carry a picture of you in my uniform pocket, and from time to time I take it out just to see that smile, At times it makes me sad because I just don't understand why such a wonderful person had to be taken, but I know God knows best, and I know your watching over us with special care. Your law enforcment family will take care of your mom, scott and family, and I don't think any of us will take today lightly, but we will look forward to tomorrow, and the day we see you. You touched more people than you know, Your sadly missed but you will never be forgotten by any of us, but you will help us press forward to make a difference, I just hope we can do it with as much love and compassion as you. see you soon, in heavens roll call.

You were so much more than a cousin--you were like a sister, but you were also my friend. We trusted each other with so much--and now I trust that you will always be with me. Still, I miss you.

Kelli,
I will always remember the last time I seen you before you went to Heaven. I was walking through Wal-mart , I seen you looking through a magazine. I spoke to you and you smiled real big. We talked a few minutes. I ask myself why I didn't take more time with you that day. We will all have some regrets and what ifs. But you are a beautiful person inside and out. You will be missed and never forgotten. I will always remember the pretty little girl in dresses, Who turned out to be a beautiful young woman who followed her dream. I love you and miss you very much!

Kelli, Our hearts will never be the same. We miss you very
much. The night of the call was the worst night of our lives.
Kelli we love you very much. I know that Scott and your mother lost their angel but God gained an angel. Scott says his heart will always be filled with love for you. I know he must go on but it is going to be hard without you. Kelli thank God for us for all the signs he has let you give your mother and Scott to let us all know you are alright. We know that a special angel is looking down on us now saying suck it up and go on. Scott said that is what you would tell him. We are all trying. We love you and miss you Kelli but I know God will keep you in his arms.

Of the many calls I have been on in the city of Wellston, I will always remember that girl with the smile always giving a hand when needed. Kelli was a wonderful policewoman, and was a pleasure to be around. Of the many members of the Wellston police department, fire department and SEOEMS, Kelli was one of the best public service personnel serving the community. I only wish I could have the pleasure of seeing her once more on a call to tell her how much I appreciated her help. She had a smile that would brighten any day and a personality that would light any night. As I drive past the site every shift where her life ended, I will remember her and continue to serve the community as she did, with dedication. Kelli is missed. I wish I could have rekindled the relationship that we had when we were children. One day we will, and I'll see her smile once again among other familiar faces, and she will be there helping others and doing what she was so good at doing.

I did not know Kelli as well as some, but she was the kind of person you never forget. Kelli was a person that always had a beautiful smile on her face no matter if you passed her in the hallway in JHS or ran into her pumping gas. She could make anyone laugh no matter how stone-faced they were. There was no denying kelli's outrageous sense of humor. She made a lasting impression on more people in her short 21 years that some of us will be lucky to accomplish in a lifetime. She touched so many lives, probably alot more than she realized. She knows now, after smiling down from heaven, watching the surrounding communities and officers from all over come together to mourn her passing. Kelli, you shut this county down girl! You are loved, admired, and missed. I am honored to have had the pleasure of knowing you.

Much love and hugs to Kelli's family
and to Scott Conley

Please buckle-up,
We owe it to Kelli who gave her life keeping ours safe

I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid for me
I took God's hand when I heard the call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes these things too, I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemes all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, God set me free.
