To know that some people didn't respect the job you chose to do. But day after day, you worked to protect them.
God bless your Family and Friends.

Our deepest sympathy to the Family and Friends of Deputy Angela K.Payne. Thank you from a greatful Nation, for your dedication, courage, and professionalism. We are greatful to God, that it is people like you who had the courage to make a difference in our society, and willing to step out into harms way to secure this Nations freedom.

My deepest condolences to the family and co-workers on the loss of Deputy Payne.
We at the International Association of Women Police salute you, Angela, for the job you did and were dedicated to for the past three years.

No words can ease the pain of your passing but those who are left behind can honor your memory by living and working to the example you set.

Godspeed, Angela.

It has been over year since your death, and I still expect to hear you on the radio. I am so sorry for the things that were left unsaid between us. I only wish we had taken the time to talk about the problems that had been between us the year before. I do know that God gave me the night before your death. I am able to look back at the laughing and joking we did on that traffic stop. I also know that you had already made the rest of us females at KCSO very proud...you stuck with it when the stakes were down and "they" were not helping you out. Kudos to Adam shift for believing in Angela.

I have tried to think of something I could have said or done while you were still here to prevent this horrible accident from happening.  Thousands of ways haunt me!  I miss you and your smile.  You once told me that I was the "big brother you never had" and I think about that often.  I am proud that you thought of me that way.  Yet, I hurt as if I were.  You see, you are my "Sister", and as a "big brother" I wanted to protect you.  However, the night you were taken I could not.  Big brothers are supposed to watch over and protect and so are "Angels".  So now we switch roles.  You are the "Angel" and can watch over me!  I'll do my best to make you as proud of me as I was proud of you.

I am a young female who is pursuing a career in law enforcement.  I find it hard to see those who have fallen before me.  This is a career that those around us are suppose to value.  Instead, many take it for granted.  However, we swear to uphold the law and "To Serve and Protect."  That is going to be my vow and I will live up to it as Office Payne obviously did.

Even though I never met Deputy Payne, my heart is broken. A piece of America died when Deputy Payne was taken from her Law Enforcement Family. You are safe in God's loving hands now Angela. May God be with the Knox. Co. Sheriffs Dept. and Deputy Payne's family.
