To Whom It May Concern,

I respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to Marcos Suarez, inmate #01488946. This inmate's intoxicated manslaughter of Officer Jeffrey McCoy of the Abilene Police Department should preclude any parole consideration.

On June 6, 2007, Officer McCoy was on routine patrol heading east on South 14th Street in Abilene. Inmate #01488946 was driving while intoxicated and crossed into oncoming traffic, crashing into the driver's side of Officer McCoy's patrol car. The impact shoved the patrol car into a utility pole, killing Officer McCoy.

Officer McCoy was a dedicated officer with the Abilene Police Department for 17 years. He was highly regarded in the Abilene community. Most importantly, he was a devoted and caring husband, son, brother, and father to a young daughter.

As a concerned citizen and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully ask that you deny parole to inmate #01488946. Parole is a privilege and not a right. Justice demands that he spend every remaining day of his full sentence in prison.
