Thank you Barney for your service to the Law Enforcement agency where you served. I know they will miss you. Everyday I go home, I look for my faithful friend to run up to the fence and greet me and when he doesn't, I know he's on the back patio sleeping. I usually sneak up to the fence and yell, "what? you sleeping on the job again and he jumps up and comes running to lick my face and I laugh so hard till I cry because it's like he saying, "hey I wasn't sleeping just resting my eyes". He is my morning joy and and midnight protector, so I know what you meant to your handler and family. May God keep you in perfect peace. I am MyBrothesrKeepr.

IN MEMORY OF K9 BARNEY

To the family, friends, and colleagues of K9 Barney:

From the beginning of time after Cain killed his brother, Abel, there has been a need for law enforcement officers to protect the weak and to bring evildoers to justice. This work is necessary in a sinful world and is dangerous. Thus far in 2015, five law enforcement canines have sacrificed their lives to protect their handlers and the citizens of this great nation. Today, we honor the sacrifice of K9 Barney, of the Tacoma, Washington, Police Department, who was fatally poisoned in the line-of-duty on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, when he “hit” on a storage unit in Puyallup, Washington, on a search warrant, and found forty-four (44) pounds of Methamphetamine; some of which was unwrapped for which K9 Barney inadvertently ingested. As a result, K9 Barney died the next day on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, as a result of illicit drug poisoning.

Lord God, we are grateful for the life of K9 Barney. He died serving us. Help us never to forget. Help us celebrate the life of K9 Barney and honor his sacrifice. Be with the family, friends, and colleagues of this fallen hero. Comfort them and give them your strength. Guide those who seek to take care of the family of this hero. May those empowered to do so, care for them with integrity. In commemorating the death of this hero, help those who mourn to remember that death is not the end. Death does not have the final say, but is simply the transition to the glorious life to come. Dogs do go to heaven! They should look forward to that life to come with joy and thanksgiving.

As for the citizens of Tacoma, Washington, help them to faithfully equip their law enforcement officers and canines with the best tools to protect their community. May their training be adequate to the task. Help the citizens of Tacoma, Washington, to remember to fund their law enforcement canine programs adequately and treat their canine heroes with respect. Help the citizens of Tacoma, Washington, to obey the law and treat each other with dignity so as not to add to the burden of crime and pain to their community.

The time for mourning will soon pass. We have now remembered and celebrated the life lost in this great tragedy. As the family, friends, and colleagues of K9 Barney go forward, they must celebrate the good things in their lives; and to celebrate life itself!

Finally, Lord God, we pray for the families, friends, and colleagues of all the law enforcement officers and canines who have been killed in the line-of-duty and we thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families, friends, and colleagues so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement organizations support the families of these fallen heroes. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their law enforcement organizations and the communities in which they lived and served might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. Amen.

Now, K9 Barney, may the Lord bless you, and keep you: the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
Now, go and crossover the ‘Rainbow Bridge’ for there is much work to do against Satan and his demons!

People say I'm "Just a Dog" then why would it be,
if you spell my name backwards god is what you see
I have many jobs, one is protecting your life
or making sure your family's safe
when that prowler is out at night.
My Partner calls me Family
