Reflections for Police Officer William W. Gullett, Jr.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace and I thank them for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace

Even though I couldn't get to the cemetary on the 16th because of the weather, I was still thinking about you. It's hard to believe it has been 41 years. Sometimes, it feels like yesterday. Watch over our officers here on earth and when tragedy strikes, meet them in heaven and guide them.

Always/All Ways,

Love,

Margo

Officer Gullett,
I wanted to thank you for your service to the Law Enforcement profession. Although your Law Enforcement career was cut short by a worthless criminal your courage and sacrafice will always be remembered. Take comfort in the fact that your partner made sure the bad guy would never hurt another. Rest in peace.

My darling Bill,
We lost another officer on Friday. It's very hard. Watch over Cpl. Findley. We will watch over his family here on earth.

There is still not a day that goes by that I don't think about you, the love of my life.

Pete is there with you. I think when he died, he had the peace he needed. He knows that I never blamed him when you died.

I loved you then, I love you now, and I will always love you.

Always/All Ways,

Margo

Billy was my uncle and yet I never had a chance to meet him. My father told me the story of how he passed and his name lives on through my brother. The only memories I will ever have of him are through others' comments. I am proud of how he served is country and I know he watches over all of us everyday. I am proud to say I am related to such a brave man. If anyone has any stories of him please pass them along.

Billy was first and foremost my brother, I was only 3 yoa when he was killed. I only remember that he loved myself and my twin with all his heart and protected us with everything he had inside him. I truly miss Billy and I am now an Officer myself. I know he had compassion, empathy, and love for everyone he touched. I only hope that I make him proud and that I stil miss him today. I hope that I have been and will be half the officer he was!He only truly cared, loved , and tried to protect others and I have tried to do the same! His example is what lead me to want to be an Officer myself, to help your fellow man.Billy I love you, think of you often, and hope I have or will make you proud!

Bill,
It has taken all these years to finally put some words down for you. I remember how you wanted to be a police officer so badly, that you worked as a cadet at Seat Pleasant Station until you were old enough to go to the academy. I remember how you came into the station and showed everyone your new uniform. All everyone sees here is a picture and a story of how you died. Just wanted you and your loved ones to know that you are remembered for the really neat guy your were. You were just a kid, and for the short time that you were a full fledged officer, you were terrific. You will be always young, I wish it were otherwise. Rest in peace my friend. Karen Tuttle

Brother Gullett,

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Respectfully,

My darling Bill,

Today is another Christmas Day without you. It doesn't get any easier. You were the love of my life and I'll never forget you.

I wish everyone could have known what a wonderful man you were. Your generosity, your love, your faith and especially your humor, are the things that I remember and cling to the most.

You gave me strength, love and hope. I loved you then, i love you now and I will always love you.

Always/All Ways
