Millard Brock

Deputy Sheriff Millard Brock was shot and killed as he and another deputy conducted a traffic stop at Jack's Creek, near the Leslie-Clay County line.

The deputies had stopped two cars and were attempting to arrest the five occupants for drunkenness when one of the men opened fire with a shotgun. Deputy Brock was killed and the other deputy was wounded.

All five men, four of whom were brothers, were arrested and charged with murder.

Deputy Brock was survived by his wife.
