Reflections for K9 Benzi

Benzi we never know when an animal is having a bad day. We just assume that you are going to listen to your verbal commands given by your handler and on this day for some reason that didnt happen and your life was taken. Thank you for your service and your Ultimate Sacrifice in the line of Duty doing what you love to do.

Sad story for sure. Being a former K-9 handler myself, I know how attached we get to our partners and that was without a doubt a difficult decision for his handler. Prayers for the handler and his family and co-workers during this time of tragic loss.

I hope the handler is doing okay. Such a sad loss for the agency. I know there is usually a tight bond between the officer and the service dog. I can't imagine the anguish the officer felt for having to shoot his own partner.

The life of an officer is full of danger. A K9 sometimes may get too excited, not realizing how much damage they can do.
l feel K9 Benzi is a hero for all he did, and should be honored as such.
