Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jermyius Young

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

My family and I offer our most sincere condolences to the family of Deputy Young. I often interacted with him when he worked in the County Jail. He was always smiling, with his head held high. He took pride in his worked and approached it with enthusiasm. Whether he was transporting an inmate for attorney visits, escorting an attorney or responding to a call within,
he served with excellence. We lift this family and colleagues in prayers, praying Gods comfort be with you all.

Deputy Young, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military and 2 years of commitment to law enforcement service, to your family, and to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
