Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. Det. Phipps, Jr. was a great Detective and a greater man. I had the honor and privilege of being one of his Training Cadres when he came through the VI Police Academy. He exhibited greatness then and throughout his law enforcement career.

He paid the ultimate price doing what he would always do.... He always was there to back up and support his fellow officers. He never said no and was always there for you.

There will be a gaping hole within the VIPD for a long time. May God bless his family, friends and his brothers and sisters in blue...
