I had the pleasure of being her partner a couple times. Ella, was full of energy, humble, hard working, always with a beautiful smile, always helping others, putting others before her self. A beautiful person in and out. A courageous warrior, always going to back up her fellow officers. Ella with a heart of gold. She will be missed and will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace, mama. We will take it from here. Fly high Angel, now you will continue your job with the greatest Armour next to God. Our Father who are in heaven, please take my sister Ella French into your mighty powerful arms. God, I humbly ask you to please send an angel to watch over her partners involved in this tragedy. I humbly ask to please send an angel for all police officers and their Families . God, with your all mighty powerful Armour protect them from the evil that walks this earth. God, this I pray. For you are the all mighty powerful in this earth and universe. Amen oh Lord

“We in this world today…shall be remembered…we few…we happy few…We Band of Brothers(Sisters)…for he today who sheds his blood with me…shall be…my Brother(Sister)…least ye say it proudly…we are but warriors for the working day.” Shakespeare

My heart and prayers go out to the French Family. Be ever assured her sacrifice will be greatly rewarded and her memory shall reign forever in your hearts.
Blessed are the peacemakers…for they shall be called the Children of God.
Matt. 5:9

“I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,”

A. Lincoln

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I am proud of Ella and the life she lived. Ella French is a hero and heroes are remembered, not forgotten.

There is no greater love than he who lays his life down for his friends.

I’m proud of you and your family must have been just as proud. Your courage cannot be taught.

The Lord is near to the broken hearted and there are none more broken hearted than Ella’s family and family in blue. Lord, be near to them.

Sergeant Michael O’Brien

Officer French: Thanks for you service and sacrifice to the citizens of Chicago. I traveled to Chicago a few years ago to review your fusion center and city emergency services. I met some great officers. I applaud your willingness to serve in these times of peril. By all accounts you were an exceptional Officer. Your brother said it best--you were a caring and wonderful person. You honor all of us. Thanks for being there for all of us.

To the family of Officer French and the officers of the CPD may I express my deep sorrow for your loss.

The most startling words an officer can hear over the air are: "Officer Down!"

The risk and dedication are great as officers perform their duties knowing a time may come when they may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Yet they continue to serve.

Officer French will be honored and remembered for her willingness to protect and serve the people of Chicago no matter the cost.

May the Lord comfort you her family and fellow officers during this time of sorrow and loss.
