I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Incidents like these are sickening as a portion of this country has turned its back on law enforcement while resting under the very protections law enforcement officers provide. Bless the proud officers who continue to serve the public best interests just as these officers did. This is a higher calling for the men and women who do their jobs selflessly knowing their own personal safety it highly at risk. RIP brother you have served with dignity, pride and dedication to an end undeserved. Those who know your sacrifice will never forget. I pray for you family who also has lost so very much.

It breaks my heart to get a notification almost every day for another LEO who is killed on duty. To many are young and haven’t really lived their lives to the potential that they could’ve. As the wife of a former chief and still active police officer I know that with the job comes constant worry and the fear of the call. Our prayers go out to his family that they are comforted in the knowledge that the LEO community grieves with them. It is never easy to lose a loved one. Let alone one that chose a profession that puts them in constant danger. My heart hurts for you. Your sons service was appreciated. With time your tears will heal and you will find comfort in his memories and life is going to move on but his absence will always be felt by all of us.

This MUST stop! I have experienced this lost personally and 12 years later it still hurts. These amazing and courageous men and women of Law Enforcement DID NOT sign up to DIE!!! They signed up to protect and serve. My heart is really broken! My heart always skips a beat when this email pops up and I am sadden that people who have NOTHING to lose take from people who have so much to live for. May the coward that took this precious life be forgiven because a community, a police agency, a family, friends, and so many more are broken today and forever. RIP RIH Rest well SHUPING! (Tears forever).
