Lord, the death of Officer Jason Harris has hit his family and friends hard. The relationship with Officer Harris was built slowly over years of shared experiences. A friendship of that depth is beyond value, and his wife and friends will find memories of their friend and loved one in many places. His death has made all of us aware of our own mortality and may challenge our faith. Yet, I hope that the faith of all who cared for Officer Harris will continue to be strong. Lord, let us always be a source of support and comfort to one another and comfort Officer Harris' family now and in the many days and months to follow. Officer Harris I didn't have the opportunity to meet you, yet I know as a retired Public Safety Officer we are all family and my wife and I offer our deepest condolences to your wife and children as well as to the men and women of the Spartanburg Police Department.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Spartanburg Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Jason Harris who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,
and bind his soul among the living, that he may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.
