Reflections for Assistant to the Deputy Warden Sandra JoAnn Bachman

Sandy was not aactually assigned to the San Pedro Unit. She worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Warden, in Admin at Complex.

I was a Perryville firecrew member when we got the callout for the Dude Fire. I had begged the crew boss to go on this fire but was turned down because I was still officially on original probation. The crew boss told me it was because if anything happened I wouldn't be covered. This haunts me to this day.

RIP Alex, Joe, James, Curtis, James, and Sandy.

Rest in peace Deputy Warden Bachman. A lady of the finest humility, honesty and downright bravery. A young woman with more on your agenda. God needed your resourcefulness and efficiency in heaven wher eit can help lead others here in this fight over evil.

I was not a citizen of Arizona at this time, and I was unaware of Deputy Bachman's sacrifice. I am thankful for her service to the state. And I must also say, the inmates who died were an unfortunate loss as well. They wouldn't have been in fire service if they were not inmates in good standing.
