Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Senior Trooper Steven J. Vincent

It is hard for me not to respond in anger as I know you left your car to assist someone who was in a ditch even if they may have been impaired but having served us in the military and here at home you have always had a heart of a warrior.

Your wife and son and the rest of your family have served with you from the beginning and will forever be held in respect of many who will continue as you keep your watch from beyond.

Peace be with you now - you have done well.

Steven Vincent, a man who loved the law and who was commissioned by We the People to uphold it. He and thousands like him put their lives on the line every day to insure the safety of all of us.

We recognize all of our soldiers who fight and die on the battlefield to protect and preserve Freedom, Liberty and Justice, and Mr. Vincent was one of those who served his country. A Police Officer is no less a soldier -- a soldier who displays a badge and fights evil and corruption on our streets to protect and serve the People, and who lends a helping hand to someone in distress.

Unfortunately,  Mr. Vincent had to lay down his life in the performance of his duties because of someone who had no respect for the law and who acted on that disrespect. I grieve with Mr. Vincent's family for their tragic loss. I am not a Law Enforcement Officer, but I still feel a great loss whenever one of them is gunned down in cold blood.

Rest in peace, Mr. Vincent. You have earned your heavenly reward.

Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; now you will be in charge over much. Enter into the joy of the Lord.

An animal was caught by people who were passing by. God Bless them. Their actions may not have saved your life, Trooper Vincent, but that action probably saved others. Who knows what that animal would've done next.

Thank you for your service to the Nation and the citizens of Louisiana. Though physically you have been taken from those who know and love you best, so long as they keep you forever in their hearts and minds, you'll never truly be gone from them.

God Bless you Trooper and may your eternal rest be at peace, you've earned it Brother.
