Brother Bowling: Your departure from this world is a tragedy. We feel the pain of losing a fellow sheepdog across the entire True Blue Line. Rest easy, and we will cover the watch from here. Please watch over us as we continue to serve in your absence.

Mrs. Bowling, you knew the man. Remember him as he lived, a hero and a loving husband who devoted his life to the service of others. May the courage that he carried with him on the job help carry you through as you mourn such a tragedy.

Officer Joseph Walker
Niobrara, Nebraska Police Department

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over four years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Please receive my deepest condolences Bowling family. To my brother in Blue and brother in the Lord I say this; Thank you for your service! Thank you for answering the call of Isaiah 6:8 (Here I am Lord, send me) on your life and accepting a life of service and dedication to your community, the state and country. No amount of words will ever soften the loss of life short lived, but we can at least draw comfort in knowing our brother served with Pride and Honor, and is now seated with our Lord in Glory.

Sgt. Bowling was a great man. It was a privilege to work on his squad while he was the supervisor of the MCSAP CVSA (commercial vehicle inspection). He was a Christian Law Enforcement Officer. He always had a smile on his face, never said bad words about others. He had a positive attitude, and was an expert in Federal and State Laws. There is no doubt that he is in heaven now.
