I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Shane for many years. Shane knew that the highest calling of a law enforcement officer is to serve and to protect; to raise our voices for those who cannot speak for themselves. during his time in our shared profession, Shane spoke for the most vulnerable among us-the children-and on occasion, for the dead. He was a presence in our lives and a force that would not be denied, that had a relentless drive to protect the innocent and bring the guilty to the bar of justice. His loss leaves a gaping hole in our ranks, and in our hearts.

Shane was one of the best cops I have ever known... A fantastic investigator, professional officer, good in a fight, a hero in the truest sense of the word. Shane was more than a friend... there is so much more I could say... We lost part of our family today. I will greatly miss his smile and his laugh. May God bless his friends and family and ease this time of pain. I will never forget our memories my brother.
