Rest in peace my brother in law enforcement. I will miss your service and dedication to our county and its citizens along with your smiling face, your joking ways and your constant consideration and respect. Deputy Thacker never failed to end a phone conversation with me or leave the dispatch center without saying "I appreciate you". James was a very honorable man and an overwhelmingly dedicated officer. He will truly be missed. Your watch is over James I, the remaining officers have it from here.

I had the pleasure of meeting Deputy Thacker a while ago when I was in Pikeville on a transport. He helped me get in the sallyport at the Detention Center and we shared a couple "war stories". I can say he was a "Cops Cop" and a true American Hero. Go easy Brother Thacker.
