God bless you, your family and the men and women of the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department. It is always a sad day when we loose another warrior to such a useless act of violence. Rest in peace knowing that your brothers and sisters will take over the watch. Your a hero and will ever be forgotten.

As the sadness of another fallen officer consumes our hearts and minds and we are left wondering Why? Only God knows why. My prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with Deputy Klutz' family and friends tonight. So as I pin on my badge and strap up my boots for another shift, I pray that God watches over all who wear the badge tonight and every night. Blessed are the peacemakers, Godspeed Deputy Klutz.

A Part Of America Died,

Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

HE WAS A GREAT PERSON TO BE AROUND AND WOULD HELP OUT ANY WAY HE COULD. I AM HONORED TO HAVE KNOWN HIM FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS AND WILL MISS HIM DEARLY. MAY GOD BE WITH HIS FAMILY. Adam,
I was walking this morning when I heard the news. It really put a damper on what had started out to be a beautiful day & great walk. But then it struck me, I would not let the news get me down & keep me from finishing what I hoped to be a 7-8 mile walk because you/your family & other survivors are the reason I was walking so far. I am getting ready to participate in a 25-mile COPS WALK next month in VA, WV, DC & MD to raise awareness of & support for Concerns of Police Survivors. So I walked a little further than I planned today in memory of you. To your family, you will be in my prayers in all the days to come and especially when I am walking in memory of your HERO and all the other officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. May God wrap his loving arms around you and carry you through the difficult days you have ahead of you. God Bless You from the wife of a state Trooper & sister of a NC Sheriff!
