To my brother in blue,

Rest in peace my brother. I am proud of the out pouring of support offered by the city you served. The folks lined up along the streets with the signs and salutes gave me hope that there really are people who care about what we do. Though I never knew you, it is an honor to serve in the same brotherhood as you.

To my brothers and sisters with the GRPD, my sincere condolences to you and my thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss.

Godspeed my brother.

I do ot know the deceased, but as a friend of several police officers in my State of New Jersey, my heart goes out to him and his family for the dangerous work that all law enforcement have to deal with everytime they report for duty. I have been in the Emergency Services field for close to 20 years now and I have seen some things, but when a fellow EMS worker, Firefighter, and especially a police officer are hurt or worse killed in the line of duty, it devastates us.

Thank toy for giving me an opportunity to share with you in this very trying time of your lives

Take Care and God Bless all of you,

Bob,

I chatted with you online a few times with Sobie while waiting for Taz. Though I am here in California, you touched my life in a way that very few can. The one thing I will remember about you most is your sense of humor. I will keep your family and team in my prayers. You left behind a lot of people who's lives you touched in a positive way and we will all miss your lively personality. Thank you for serving! Thank you to all our police officers, military men and women, and firefighters. You give selflessly and expect nothing in return... THANK YOU ALL!

I have been praying for Ofc. Bob Kozminski, his family, and the entire Grand Rapids Police Department. As a Grand Rapids native it broke my heart when I heard the news. I know we have all had are run-ins with law enforcement, it takes a special person to put on the uniform and badge everyday knowing that your life is on the line, knowing that you may not come home at the end of your shift. Ofc. Kozminski is a hero, not by choice, not by chance, but by purpose. All of us who wear the badge know the risks we take. It hard for people to understand the strong bond of brotherhood that is felt by every law enforcement officer across the country, but everyday a brother or sister is killed in the line of duty, a little bit of us die too.

We can take solice in the fact that Ofc. Kozminski died doing what he loved to, and what he chose to do. Brother you served with pride, honor, and conviction believing what you did everday truely did make a difference. You answered your call of duty, and paid the ultimate price.

Brother I promise you tomorrow when I put on my uniform I will serve with the same amount of pride and integrity that did. God Bless you, and rest in peace brother.

Davie FL Police Dept.

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
