Dave,
I want to apologize for crying in your car last night as I drove it back to the post. The picture of you with your kids tucked above your visor just tore me up. Your example as a husband and father is one we could all learn from. It was truly a pleasure to have served with you. Thank you for your dedication to service and devotion to duty. You will be missed! - LT

Psalm 18:1-4
I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn
of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

My sympathies to Trooper Rich's family, friends and colleagues. He did not deserve to be brutally gunned down trying to help someone by some lowlife. Being a twin myself, my heart goes out to his three children and especially his twins whom will grow up without their Daddy. May Gof bless them all.

Today we shed a tear for another brother officer who paid the ultimate sacrifice. A void now remains in the hearts and soles of his brother and sister officers of the Indiana State Police.

May God give both his family and friends the strength to carry on.

God bless you Master Trooper. Thank you for protecting us and keeping us safe for over 18 years. I pray you will continue to watch over us from heaven.

Final Inspection

The Policeman stood and faced his God,
which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?

The Policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No Lord I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
that wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
when the bills got just to steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've cried unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had to much,
but if you don't I'll understand.

There was silence all around the Throne
where the saints had often trod.
As the Policeman waited quietly,
for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Policeman,
you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
you've done your time in Hell."

Peace Keeper, Master Security Policeman

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

To the people, family, friends, and department to witch this brave warrior served you have my deepest thoughts and prays. Sleep well my hero and God Speed!
