Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Chief Investigator Alex Roy "Al" Suarez, Sr.

Al,
When I heard what happened, I remembered the night I rode with you. You took me to a house, and told me the porch light would be on at 7:30. We waited a few minutes, and at 7:30 on the dot the light came on. We hear alot about community policing today, but without a doubt you epitomized it. Your dedication to your community was evident. Even as the chief, I remember you working the midnight shift. we should take comfort in knowing that your legacy will go on.

Only in death do we realize the true depth of the life a man has lived. The reflections left for this protector of the innocent portray a man of valor and compassion. God speed brother warrior. You've served mankind well and your memory will be carried forever in the hearts and minds of those you leave here on earth.

Another officer has fallen, Lord. You must have had a very special reason for needing him unknown to us. Officer Suarez is now standing his watch in Your Kingdom. He watches and now protects ALL of us. God bless you Officer Suarez and thank you for all your time of service and God bless your family for allowing you to serve. Dear Lord take care of him, you have another fine officer.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Chief Investigator Suarez and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Chief Investigator Suarez has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Chief Investigator Suarez, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Chief Investigator Suarez is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our prayers are with your family, your co-workers, and the officer involved. We hope that everyone will forgive him just as our Lord Jesus Christ would. We'll take the watch from here, brother.
