Prayer to St. Michael the Archangle, patron Saint of Police Officers......

Saint Michael The Archangle,

Defend us in battle

Be our protection against the wickedness and the snares of the devil,

May God rebuke him we humbly pray;

And so thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,

By the power of God, thrust into hell

satan and all evil spirits

Who wander through the world

For the ruin of souls, Amen

MPO Garbarino,
Even though I never have met you, I learned a lot about you on that dreadful day. Like so many others, I heard you calling out a warning to the other officers that were responding to you, and during that brief moment in time I learned that you were a man above all men, a man of compassion for his fellow officers, and most of all...You were and are a Hero... Rest in Peace Brother.

I sat in court with you on the morning of May 8th talking about what was new in our lives and just enjoying each others company. Then just a few hours later I listened to you get on the radio and tell everyone what was happening. I have heard your voice in my head since that afternoon. I have thought and prayed for you and your family since that time. I can so vividly remember so many great times working with you. I always knew you were someone to look up to and now everyone else knows that you are a true hero. Know that we will continue to help and pray for your wife and daughters. I will truely miss you Gabby...you are one of the good ones!

Gabby,
As one of your many accomplishments while you served with us, you had the courage to co-found our police union in 1990. Two of you stood up for officers rights and founded a union. That was one of many acts of courage you displayed throughout your career. Your actions on May 8, 2006 along with those of Vicky and others where the most heroic that I have experienced. Your radio traffic definitely saved lives.
You where a great cop, never developed a negative attitude, nor did you ever lose your enthusiasm for the job.
You have a remarkable wife and lovely kids. Your family will be cared for. I promise you that. We will act on your behalf and as I know you want us to.

Dear Gabby,

It was an honor being one of your dispatchers when you worked out of Mclean. I have very fond memories of those days. Along with the entire department, I mourn your loss more than words can say. You are a true hero for all of us, and we are so thankful for your bravery and for your many accomplishments. Thank you, and we will never forget you!

To the Garbarino family: My deepest sympathy and thoughts and prayers as you go through the next few hard days. This has all seemed like a nightmare for the past 9 days. Know that there are many out her who do understand the impact of this profession, and appreciate all you do to make the world a better place. Your honor and committment during the incident to protect your fellow officers was remarkable.

To the Fairfax County Police Department: Thoughts and prayers to all of you as you go through the grieving process all over again. Another assault as another brother is taken away, and again the dangers of your everyday workday come to light.

Hopefully healing for all of you can begin quickly.

We might not know the right words to say, or even know how to say them, but we can pray for your family and friends. May the Lord give them strength through this time.

Rest In Peace Sir, You truly were a hero to the end, and warned others of the danger to protect them from harm even as you sat in your car so badly hurt. I only met you a few times, but you were always very kind and willing to chat.
