I too would like to leave my heart filled condolences for both the officer and his ride along.. I too went on many ride alongs..even though we did not hold any authority .. we 100% supported our fine officers or we never would have been there in that car... To some a target.. We went to show support and i felt like i was accepted by the many Fine Pomona ca.. police officers.. so god bless you both and watch over your family and fellow supporters..

My heartfelt sympathies the families of both Deputy Jones and his civilian ride along partner. All Officers and there families have to live with the possibility of this happening each and every time they go "10-8". As the protectors of society we gladly take this risk. People never understand why we take the risk and openly admit that they would not or could not do it themselves. We have been described as the "Sheepdog protecting the sheep from the wolves"; and this seems to true, as we protect seemingly the entire population from complete and total chaos. When the families read this please understand that these individuals died doing something that they love and that it was not wasted, but to be honored by all as a sacrifice to do the will of God.

Roane County has lost one of its' protectors.

An Officer with over 25 years of service to the community.

NO amount of the word sorry can reflect how I feel, but know that the public you served thanks you.

Rest well, we will not forget you. And, we who go on will not let your murder go unresolved.

We will not forget your friend, who decided to ride along this fateful day, either.

My deepest sympathies are with your family. I know I was safe with officers like you giving your all to protect every citizen in our communities. I also know that I will remain safe with you watching over us. I never take for granted the risks that all officers take while working to make our lives secure and safe. God bless you and your family and all the officers who risk their lives to protect people who they may never meet on this Earth.
