My heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of Ranger Christensen. I know firsthand what it feels like to lose a child--my son, L/Cpl Jonathan Parker, SCHP, was killed in the line of duty on May 16, 2005--he was only 29. My prayers are with you.

My sincere sympathy goes to the family of Jeff Christensen. From those of us who are Rangers and who will always be Rangers, it is difficult to say goodbye to our fellow officers, but we take pride in knowing that we loved our jobs and it was obvious that Jeff loved being a Ranger. May he rest in Peace and my his family know that he was happy during his short time with us.

This is a loss that will never be forgotten. Hours will turn into days, days turn into weeks, weeks into months and months into years but, the difference that these officers have made will last forever.

“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but a two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Ranger Christensen. I am saddened that he wasn't found a live, because I really had hope that he would be found a live. I was at Rocky Mountain National Park July 31- Aug 6, and when I found out about it. I was really shocked, and I was hoping he would be found a live. Me and my family went hiking all week and we looked for him and called his name, but unfortunately we were unsucessful. I am just glad that his body has been found, although its not the way everybody wanted it to be found. I was hoping he would be found a live. Everyday I would watch the news or read the newspaper hoping he would have been found that day alive. I just want to let the family know that I helped in the search for him, and I am praying for the family during this very hard time. I just wish I could have found him alive, or somebody else could have found him a live, because that would have been so rewarding for me. Rest in Peace Ranger Jeff Christensen. You will never be forgotten. God Bless.

Jeremy
