You will never be forgotten Roger, EVER!!! I will never forget the many times that I saw you and spoke to you while riding with my brother Deputy Mark Townsend (Livingston County Sheriff's Dept.). You were born to be serve your public and you did it well. You gave the ultimate sacrifice and I have to thank you. Fore you gave your life so that my brother Mark could live. If you did not know, he was on scene only minutes after you fell. If it was not for your bravery under fire my brother could have fallen to the same fate. You are forever a hero in my mind and an angel on my brothers shoulder. Watch over him, fore you are never off duty. Not even in Heaven. God bless your family and You my brother in blue.

Deputy Roger Lynch is a hero. The night he lost his life in the line of duty there is no telling how many lives he saved. I worked some cases with Roger and he was always professional. Deputy Lynch will always be with me in my heart and mind. Roger is the prime example of what a Law Enforcement Officer stands for. GOD BLESS YOU ROGER and GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY. Tom Emery

Debbie & Family,
I'm praying for each of you as you go through this time of loss. I never would have dreamed that I would have received the phone call that I did on June 3, 2005 to inform me of what unfolded the night before. As I sit and type this, my mind scans over the countless memories I've shared with you and Roger in the past 10 years. Roger was a true friend and will be GREATLY missed. It will not seem the same without him around Livingston County. I could type story after story of uncountable experiences & memories, and I can't think of one that would not make you laugh, especially him branding me with the nickname "Orville" who still makes people laugh where ever it is told. Roger taught me a lot about life, and I wish so much that he could have met my wife & soon to be son! Livingston County is at a loss without Unit 3. While Roger has gone on to receive his reward, I pray that the Lord will comfort you and your family and draw you closer to him than ever before. We Love You

This is a tragic death for someone who's dedicated his life to serving the citizenry of the U.S. I wish I'd been there with you on that fateful day. We would have either taken the suspect down together, or fllen alongside one another while trying. My deepest thoughts go to your family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. Salute.

May God bless and keep your family, friends and co-workers in his hands, to touch their broken hearts and to begin the long journey of healing, and may God forever hold them close and keep them safe from anymore harm.
Roger, you are a Hero, as it has been said so many times here. I will never forget the kindness you always had while at DOCJT. You would always make the best of it, but most of all, knowing you were a child of God, makes me smile as I sit here and remember you while holding back the tears. Your work here on earth was hard but now it is finished, so go rest with God and we'll keep watch now. You will never be forgotten. I can still hear your laughter. God Speed My Hero, My Brother.

Words Cannot give reasonable explanation of what you endured on that sad day. Deputy Lynch, We know now you was not scared nor were you going to relenquish to such turmoil or deviance.
