Reflections for Detective Anthony J. Hosey

Dear Dad,

Growing and learning through life’s challenges and successes become chapters of the legacy you’ve laid before us. Each year we turn to each other in remembrance of your unread chapters. Your children all demonstrating characteristics of which you would be proud today. Thank you for passing on the baton in such an instrumental way. I pray you & Alex Kulpa are enjoying each other. You all are sincerely missed

Sending love Always towards heaven,

Veronica Hosey, Daughter

My heart hurts from disbelief! This is my first time looking you up. I have tried to picture your face but could because I never seen you. I use to have dreams of you coming to save me. I looked for you in stores. Hoping you was sitting in the back row of my graduation. Or even bring me lunch to school. Its sad that ill never hear your voice or touch you. I didn't get a change to say my hi or bye. You didn't have that talk about boys with me. But not the least I wanted to say you left me twice now!! I am so mad that you not here! Because I always wanted to say ask you. Dad why you never loved me? Why no one knows about me? What did I do? I wanted you to look me in my eyes and explain yourself!! Now I will never be able to get that closure! But I still love you and always will! Hey I am married with three kids. I just hoped you could have been apart of my best moments of my life!!

Love forever your long last daughter! Arlene

I thought of you today as I riding down I55 through Bloomington I decided to google your name, wondering what you were up to these days. I was not prepared to read what I saw! I remember when we first met while working for Dept of Corrections. You didn't stay in Corrections long, and quickly moved on to the policing field. I remember always teasing you about your job assignments being so secretive lol. You were that listening ear, and such a great friend! Even though we lost touch with each other early 2000 I'm struggling right now believing that you are gone! My heart is heavy and my heart goes out to the Hosey family. I pray for continued strength for each of you.

I have read and responded to many ODMP Pages over the years and I am always touched and moved when family and friends leave reflections. Detective Hosey, I've never seen more than those left for you. You apparently touched so many people and left your mark on so many lives. When it's my time, I wonder if I will have even 1/2 the impact you've had.

On this now, 11th anniversary, God Bless and may all those who knew and loved you be comforted that, you are in a far better place than you were before and that there is a chance to see you once again years from now.

Thinking about that murder for hire case and how you looked dressed up like a bad guy. The rides, bike shows. Steaks and always striving for that trooper spot. Man......Fun. Been a long time....
