Reflections for Sergeant Gregory Lei Hunter

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, God Bless.

Sergeant Hunter,

You and Officer Bruce Seix, who shot and killed your murderer, are true warriors. It is such a tragedy that you were taken from us . . . murdered by a coward lying in wait. You were an incredibly sharp looking individual, and as I was told by a member of your department, a wonderful person and police officer. You made Grand Prairie, the State of Texas and our country a much safer place during your many years there. You will never be forgotten for your dedicated service. Thank you my brother. We all give "some" . . . but you have given "all" . . . it is now time for you to go rest high on that mountain. I honor you, your name, your memory, and mostly for the ultimate sacrifice you made protecting all of us.

And to Grand Prarie Police Officer Bruce Seix . . . duty called and you answered . . . you stepped up, entered the battle and defeated the enemy. You "did Sergeant Hunter proud." Never doubt that you did all you could do my brother . . . you did. God's speed in recovering from your injuries.

With brotherly love and utmost respect, Jim Crotty (Former Richmond, VA Police Officer.)

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms

Greg, I just couldn't believe the news today. I got a phone call letting me know what happened, watched the news and still couldn't believe it. I feel numb as I write this. I remember when I first met you, I was a police explorer about 16 years ago. You gave me encouragement when I applied for a job at the jail and I got the job with Grand Prairie. I will always remember your easy going personality and will miss you as will all your brothers and sisters in blue. May God bless you and your family. Rest easy warrior!
