Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Adam Reid Fleshner

It seems so unreal that you are gone. What a good friend you were to me. I can still see your smiling face. I have fond memories of the hours we spent in the E.R. All of the jokes and secrets we told to each other! We trusted each other that what we spoke would go no further. That is the true definition of a friend. I could always count on you to make me smile, whether it be by your own smile or a sarcastic remark. That was you, always upbeat for other people. Oh, how happy about and proud of your baby girl. Just 6 days and she would have been born on my birthday. You can rest in peace knowing that Angie is a wonderful mother and will let Emilee know that you loved her. She will also let her know you are a hero in so many eyes and you are now her special guardian angel. I truly believe you are watching over us. You will always be loved, missed, and never forgotten.

So sad, so young, so soon, Rest in peace with all those who have gone before you....You will be in the company of God´s finest and will be sadly missed by those you left behind.
Isaiah 40:31

You know how bad it hurts for me to say good bye. We have had our up and down days. I still love you with all my heart and miss you dearly and I always will. I thank God for him giving us our daughter Emilee. I now have a part of you with me the rest of my life. Emilee will know you are a true hero and what a great daddy you were to her and would of been to her. No one else will ever replace you. I know you are in Heaven watching over us and even though you will not be here physically to watch our daughter crawl, walk, talk and to get married we know you are here mentally. Lindsey misses you and questions why you are gone and I'd trying my best to answer her the best I can. She will also know that you loved her too like one of your own. Please keep me strong through these times and we will see you when our time comes. I love and miss you.

My thoughts are with the family and with the agency. We have had to many fall in the line of duty and it's only January.

What could we every forget about you?Never your laugh or the way that you smiled! Never our moments of fun and adventure, or the times we sat and just talked for a while. We could never forget the way we grew in closeness andtrust. You were so much a part of our lives and our world. You are and forever will be a part of our happiest memories, too!!
We were much , much more that roomates or friends. You were like a brother to us.We haven't been apart in so long, sharing everything. We have had so many wonderful times together. We road fourwheelers together. We became parents only two weeks apart together. We started out as two, just me and you and then ended up as five. Me, you,Holly and ours daughters, Alyssa and Emilee. Just when we thought our family was complete, along came Brittney , who also loved you dearly. It's a blessingto find a friendship like ours, but ours was a rare one. Stronger than most could ever share or imagine. We keep waiting for you to walk through the door at 10pm and head straight for the kitchen for a glass of sweet tea . No one could ever make or drink sweet tea like you. We work together to make the world a safer place for our families. It's hard to imagine life with out you.You were a wonderful friend,a devoted and well respect police officer, and loving father. You well be greatly missed by us all !! We will always love you !! Some friends are a blessing because people freely share, are willing to be honest and reveal how much they care. Some are a blessing because gentle, thoughtful ways are offer to comfort and give advise and praise. Some friendships are a blessing because of memories of past years are filled with deep emotions shared in times of joy and tears. Our friendship was a blessing for all these reasons!! Every kind of friendships is a precious work of art, for a friendship is gladness,a blessing, treasure of the heart. If friendships are gladness then how can i start to count to count all smiles you brought to our hearts. You were more then a roomate, friend,or fellow officer to us.You were and forever will be apart of our family, apart of our hearts! We will miss your smile the warmth in your eyes, the way that you listened and cared. We will miss you laughter,so ressuring, kind and sincere. The way that you touched everyone you knew and met ,the sound of your voice, the comfort of knowing you were near.We will miss the magic of the wonderful things you did,the secerts you held ,and the dreams you revealed.
A loving heart,a beautiful spirit, these are the things that last forever!! My we take comfort in knowing your spirit will live on with us forever and that God is as always close to us as he is to you . he keeps us close together in spirit,no matter where we are.
We will never forget you ,Adam!!
May the lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other.' Gen.31:49

We love you always and forever our brother!!!

Adam was one of the finest young men I have ever had the privelage of knowing. He was an outstanding Officer. He had a ready smile and an overwhelming need to help people. Being an officer was what he always wanted, and he worked hard to make that come true.> To that I can say, Adam would have been Awe-struck at the out pouring of Officers at his Services. Adam you will be GREATLY MISSED.

To the family of Deputy Fleshner, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. May your daughter grow and know her father was a true hero.

Adam was a friend. Whenever I had to respond as a reporter to scenes he was always polite and professional. Whenever I saw him on patrol or off duty, he would wave with a broad smile. This young deputy was dedicated. Our rural community will miss him terribly. I will miss him.

To the Family, Relatives, Friends, and Colleauges of Deputy Sheriff Adam Fleshner,

Words are often not enough in such a time, but our words are meaningful only if we pray the Lord's watchcare upon you, which we do with all sincerety. Often we ask "why?", and so will you, not only in the present, but in times to come. However, your trust in the Lord and in the power of His might will give you the answers and will comfort you.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus bless and keep you now and in the days to come.

We reach out to the family, friends and co- workers of another great officer who paid the ultimate price for protecting and serving those citizens in his community. Their shattered lives will forever be changed. Thanks to Deputy Fleshner for his service and the sacrifice he made merely by wearing the shield. May God bless and protect all those in law enforcement who continue to serve.
