A life lived well but cut too short...I know how that feels. I lost Joey Cushman on 7.6.01 and I know the agony of simply existing. I hope Joey and Richard meet in the Great Beyond. It doesn't heal the hurt but Richard is just another guardian angel, watching over you, watching your back and until you see him again, he will always be with you. Of this I am certain.

Each day I check the numbers...hoping that they do not increase. When they do, I know that there is a name and a face, a brother or sister in blue that has made the ultimate sacrifice...again. To the family, friends and officers who served by Officer Perkins' side...you are now and will forever be in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts. We do not know your names or your faces, but we feel your pain. You are not alone...not today...not ever.

I am so sorry for the loss of this fellow officer. I have checked this site ever since my good friend Joey Cushman died in June. The number of officers that have died since then is amazing, I cant believe it. It is so horrible. I pray for the family and friends of this officer. May Gods love comfort you.
