Reflections for Police Officer Goelet Alessandro Carlo Beuf

Only 4 years to pay for the never ending pain inflicted on a family. That is too small a price sir. But, you paid the ultimate price and for that we are forever grateful.

I have spent the last week with one of your beautifual daughters. It was my honor to have the chance to get to know her and your family. Officer Beuf,
Today we remember your supreme sacrifice and know that not a day goes by that someone doesn't think of you. For all those that are still missing you, I ask our Heavenly Father to grant them peace and comfort. Thank you for caring enough to confront evil. You are remembered and appreciated.

A man remembered with love and respect never dies but continues to live on in the hearts and minds of others.

I vow to thee, my country - all earthly things above -
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago -
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.

Beuf-
This past Toy Drive my sister in law and I went to your wife's home to deliver toys and a gift to her and your children. We learned the day before that our dad did this each year since you passed away. We are honored to continue the tradition. I never met you but I had heard about you from dad. I am sure you are both up there kickin back this minute and sharing more laughs. God Bless you Beuf and your wonderful wife and family.

Today we celebrate Jesus' birthday and yours. There should have been celebrating and fun, and teasing you for getting old, but that was not to be. We miss you, we have great memories, and we'll be together again some day.

Meanwhile, watch over your dear ones, and over your Marines and men and women in blue as they watch over us.

To the family and friends of Officer Beuf and his fellow officers, and most especially to Officer Beuf:

On this the sixth anniversary of Officer Beuf's tragic death, I wanted to honor his memory. His bravery and dedication will never be forgotten.

May his family continue to be comforted by the caring and support of their law enforcement family, and other police survivors.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Officer Beuf gave to his community and the citizens of Arizona, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 1, 1999.

I never knew you, I am sad to say, but I have heard much about you from a friend.

I was one of the officers involved with the suspect you were chasing when he was in Missouri.

I wish now more then ever that we could have done more here to catch him so you and he would have never met.

I do promise that you will never be forgoten..
